Grants to Iowa educators in grades PreK-12 for activities and programs that educate students about agriculture. Funding is intended for projects that use the subjects of social studies, science, math, or language arts to promote agriculture literacy. Projects may take place during regular classroom instruction or in after-school programs. The goal of the grant program is to support the integration of agriculture into regular classroom instruction or after school programs with an academic focus.

The goal of the grant is to initiate new projects or expand existing projects that promote agriculture literacy. Grants can be used to fund innovative lessons, activities, classroom resources, guest speakers, outreach programs, field trips, and other projects.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility
- Preschool-12th grade teachers or librarians
- Projects must teach agriculture through Language Arts, Math, Science, or Social Studies.
- Project must take place between January 15 and June 4, 2021.
- A teacher may not apply for more than one grant per year.
- Teachers with overdue follow-up reports from a previous grant award are not eligible to receive funding.
- Grant money cannot be used for fundraising efforts, political issues, or campaigns.
- Applying preschool teachers should be from nonprofit organizations.

Grant Timeline
- Applications due by January 10, 2021 11:59 p.m.
- Successful applicants will be notified by February 1, 2021.
- Funding will be distributed by February 14, 2021.
- Final wrap-up reports and at least one photo of the project must be submitted by June 7, 2021.
