Grants to Illinois nonprofit organizations for programs and services to benefit local residents and employees in eligible locations. Special priority will be given to proposals addressing the needs of people with disabilities, youth, the elderly, and the economically disadvantaged. Funding is intended to benefit Moraine Township.

Moraine Township 2021 Grant Funding Priorities:

  • Programs/Projects/Agencies which support Moraine Township’s mission of administering public funds to provide responsive, efficient, and compassionate services and support for Moraine Township residents.
  • Programs/Projects/Agencies which give special priority to addressing the needs of economically disadvantaged elderly, youth, and persons with disabilities living in Moraine Township.

Consideration will be given for general operating and program support, and, in limited cases, capital expense proposals.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Only nonprofit organizations that serve Moraine Township residents on a non-sectarian basis may apply.

The following are not eligible to apply: Individuals, public schools or other taxing bodies or their subsidiaries, charitable foundations, agencies that exclusively provide cash grants to individuals (vs. services to residents), and agencies whose primary purpose is lobbying/advocacy.

Agencies chiefly supported by taxpayer dollars or otherwise affiliated with a taxing body are not eligible.

Pre-Application Information:

Application deadline is March 1, 2021. Grant applications will be reviewed and decided upon generally within two months.

Applicants are urged to contact the Township Clerk or a Grant Committee liaison to discuss any questions before submitting an application.

Applicants may be contacted for clarification or a site visit.

Organizations may submit only one application per annual grant period, although multiple program categories are permitted, and may be funded separately, at the Committee’s recommendation and Board’s discretion.

All grantees are required to make a presentation at a Township Board meeting sometime during the grant year to keep the public apprised of their programs, and to update the Board on who is being served by the Township's grant. Agency appearances are scheduled throughout the year, within six months of receiving the grant.
