Grants of up to $1,000 to Nebraska and Iowa nonprofit organizations in Greater Omaha for start-up projects and activities that raise awareness about, and a passion for, gardening and horticulture. Funding may also be used to beautify public property while promoting gardening, and to purchase supplies and materials associated with the project. Grants may include a certificate for the Annual Plant Sale in lieu of cash.

Purpose: The Men’s Garden Club of Omaha is a civic organization dedicated to the passion of gardening. Its grant program was developed to:
- Spread the knowledge and passion of gardening through its members and the members of the community
- Support education in horticulture and related fields
- Undertake sponsorship of beautification of public property while promoting gardening

The name "Seed Grant" is meant to indicate the monies should be for "start-up" funding for new projects, and not to sustain long-term, ongoing projects.

Some plant material must be a part of the proposal.
