Grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 to Oregon and Washington nonprofit organizations to benefit communities within the Portland metropolitan area. Program areas include youth education, the environment, and activity, health, and wellness. Eligible locations include Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas Counties in Oregon; and Clark County in Southwest Washington.

Areas of Focus:
- Youth Education: With an emphasis on all students reaching the third-grade reading level, as well as STEM programming. Fostering a lifetime love of learning and literacy in local children.
-Youth Health, Activity, and Wellness: With an emphasis on soccer and inclusiveness, embracing diversity and all ability levels. Keeping local children active and healthy in the community by providing safe, structured areas and activities for play.
-Environment: With an emphasis on building awareness and activism through growing the greenbelt and gardens within city limits with the help of local youth and their families.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Portland Timbers Community Fund (PTCF) supports charitable, non-profit organizations that are registered as a 501(c)(3) with tax-exempt status from the IRS and are located within one of the four surrounding counties of the Portland metro area; Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, and Clark County in SW Washington.

The PTCF will not consider requests from individuals, private foundations, organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, class, gender, or national origin, organizations that support political campaigns or lobbyist groups, or fraternal or religiously affiliated organizations. The PTCF will discard requests from individual schools, PTOs, or PTAs. The PTCF will only review requests that are tied to a specific project at a nonprofit organization and will not consider donations that will be used for annual appeals, debt reduction, endowment funds, or employee salaries.

Organizations are limited to one grant application per year. Organizations that receive a grant will not be eligible for additional funding from the PTCF until a calendar year has passed.

Pre-Application Information:

The proposal review and approval process will take place the two months preceding granting, so please take that into account when determining the timing of funds needed.

Proposals must be received by 5:00 PM the day they are due.
