Grants to Farragut, Tennessee nonprofit organizations that provide civic services to local residents. Funding may be requested for any activity that promotes the general welfare of town citizens. Applications will be accepted from any organization that works primarily to bring about civic betterments and social improvements. This may involve efforts to maintain and increase employment opportunities in the Town by promoting industry, trade, commerce, tourism and recreation by inducing manufacturing, industrial, governmental, educational, financial, service, commercial, recreational, and agricultural enterprises to locate in or remain in the Town.

The following groups are eligible to apply for a community grant from the Town:
-In general, a "nonprofit charitable organization" is one in which (i) no part of the net earnings inures or may lawfully inure to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual and (ii) that provides year-round services benefiting the general welfare of the residents of the Town.
-A "nonprofit civic organization" means a civic organization exempt from taxation pursuant to § 501(c)(4) or (c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended, which operates primarily for the purpose of bringing about civic betterments and social improvements through efforts to maintain and increase employment opportunities in the Town by promoting industry, trade, commerce, tourism and recreation by inducing manufacturing, industrial, governmental, educational, financial, service, commercial, recreational, and agricultural enterprises to locate in or remain in the Town.
-An organization that would otherwise qualify as eligible for a grant of municipal funds pursuant to Tennessee law (T.C.A. § 6-54-111), may be the type of organization to which it would be improper for separation of church and state principles for the Town to make a grant because it is, or is affiliated with, a religious organization.
Eligibility does not equate to entitlement. The Town retains the sole discretion to select from eligible applicants which receive grants.
The Town of Farragut Administration Department will accept grant applications received on or before 5:00 pm on March 30, 2018.
All applicants are requested to attend a mandatory workshop with the Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Thursday, April 26, 2018; workshop time to be determined after application deadline.
