The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles
Grants of $500 to Greater Los Angeles Area, California Jewish high school students to attend experiential trips and programs in Israel. Students demonstrating financial need have the option to request additional funding, and matching funds may be available through the applicant's synagogue. The goal of this program is to enable Jewish youth in the Los Angeles area to explore and strengthen their own Jewish identity in the state of Israel.
In addition to the $500 POST Partnership Grant, the Federation offers a need-based Financial Aid Grant for families seeking additional support to make the trip to Israel a reality. In order to be eligible for financial aid, the participant must meet the same eligibility requirements as the POST Partnership Grant and be able to show a need for additional support.
Additionally, if the applicant is a member of one of the Federation’s partner synagogues, there is the option for the synagogue to match the Partnership grant with $250.

Accepted applicants to the POST Partnership Grant will receive a $500 grant toward their Israel trips, paid directly to the trip providers.
The applicant’s synagogue may be able to provide matching funds of $250.
Program length may be 2 weeks to 3 months.
Financial Aid applications submitted for the March 31 deadline may be for programs in Summer 2017.
Eligibility requirements for POST Partnership Grants include the following:
-First trip to Israel on a youth program
-Applicant lives in Greater Los Angeles area
-Applicant must be a high school student (up until summer after graduation).
-Program length is 2 weeks to 3 months
-Program cost is over $3,000
In order to be eligible for Financial Aid, the participant must meet the same eligibility requirements as the POST Partnership Grant and be able to show a need for additional support.
POST Partnership applications are considered on a rolling basis.
The next deadline for Financial Aid applications is March 31, 2017 for programs taking place in Summer 2017.
If seeking matching funds of $250 from your synagogue, please contact the synagogue directly to see if it has the funds available and inform the synagogue that you are applying for the Partnership Grant through the Federation. This is entirely optional, and you may still apply for the grant without receiving the matching funds.
POST Partnership applications include:
-The online application form.
-Copy of applicant’s acceptance/receipt from the trip provider, to be attached to the online application.
-The Release Form (attached below).
In addition to completing the POST Partnership application, Financial Aid applicants must provide:
-Financial Aid Form (attached below).
-Most recent tax return and current W-2 form (if applicable).
-Letter of Application: A personal note from the applicant about why he/she wants to go on this trip OR a letter from the family explaining consideration for additional financial assistance; or a combination of both.
