Awards of $500 to Kansas and Missouri teachers in the Greater Kansas City area to recognize outstanding STEM education in grade 4 through 12 classrooms. The purpose of this award is to honor teachers who are leaders in STEM education and excel at motivating students in scientific exploration.

Teacher Qualifications:
-Teaching at least one class period in grades 4-12 areas of STEM
-Annually engages students in scientific research
-Prepares students to successfully compete in the Greater KC Science & Engineering Fair
-Is a leader in science education and provides service to the profession

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Kansas City area teachers in grades 4-12 are eligible.

Pre-Application Information:

Nominations must be received by February 28, 2018 and applications are due by March 16, 2018.

The teacher or another person with knowledge of nominee’s qualifications may complete the nomination form. To nominate a teacher or self-nominate, download and complete the nomination form. The application form will be e-mailed to the candidate.

The award of $500 and a plaque is given annually at the annual Greater KC Science & Engineering Fair Awards Ceremony.
