Grants of up to $2,500 and one grant of $5,000 to Washington, DC nonprofit organizations, schools, and neighborhood groups for programs and projects that benefit residents of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Funding is specifically intended for proposals that address the needs of schools and teachers, for youth programming, social services, arts and culture, and neighborhood beautification and community building.
On occasion, awards of more than $2,500 are made for projects of particular merit. Each Fall, one $5,000 "Bill Phillips Grant" is made to support social service work. The Bill Phillips Grant will support social service work, either new or ongoing, that benefits the community by serving the neighbors in need.
