Grants of up to $5,000 to Delaware nonprofit organizations, municipalities, and homeowner associations for tree management and planting projects. Interested applicants must meet with staff prior to submitting an application. Funding is intended to support projects for the planting or management of trees, including professional tree inventory, hazardous tree removal, and pruning, that take place on public land within the State.

Grant funds can help communities develop an effective urban and community forestry program through the following types of projects:

Grant requests must be a minimum of $500 not to exceed $5,000.
Grant cycle is October 1, 2020 to November 5, 2021. Projects and close out documents not completed by the applicant and received by the DelawareForest Service before November 5, 2021 will result in loss of grant award and reallocation of funds.
Note that tree plantings should not occur during June-August.
