Awards to Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia women to recognize outstanding leadership in businesses and contributions to the community. The purpose of this award is to honor the most influential businesswomen in the Washington area. Nominations are invited on behalf of women representing every profession and industry.
Candidates for this award are women who have made a difference in their communities, blazed a trail for others, and are leaving a mark on the Washington-area community.
Nominations will be judged on three criteria: professional accomplishments, community leadership, as well as awards and milestones. Each of these should be addressed in the nomination.
Nominations should include as much detail as possible about a nominee's specific business and community accomplishments. We're looking for real tangible results, as in "She increased the company's sales last year by 40 percent, bringing in AOL and Nextel as new clients" or "She raised an additional $500,000 to help send 20 more kids to college."
All honorees will be profiled in the Washington Business Journal and online.
