Grants to Maryland nonprofit organizations in eligible areas to provide services to residents. Applicants must contact staff for pre-approval prior to applying. Funding is intended for operating support, scholarships, summer camps, and requests addressing behavioral health in Harford County.

Term of Contract:

The Foundation will consider multi-year grants for applications that exceed $100,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Foundation will only make grants to organizations that are exempt from federal tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and that are not classified as private foundations under section 509(a) of the Code.

Support is not provided for:
- Agencies that redistribute grant funds to nonprofits
- Animal welfare/humane societies
- Annual giving
- Galas, special events, or golf tournaments
- Environmental programs
- Individuals
- Legal services
- National or local chapters for specific diseases
- One-time only events, seminars, or workshops
- Political activities
- Staff development and training
- Summer camps that are less than four weeks
- Public, private or charter elementary or high schools, colleges or universities. Only educational institutions that have a current relationship with the Dresher family are being funded.

2021 Submission Deadlines for Letters of Inquiry and Grant Applications without exception
- Friday, January 8
- Friday, March 19
- Friday, July 9
- Friday, October 8
- Summer camp requests are considered only for the January 8 and March 19 deadlines.
- Behavioral health requests are considered only for the March 19 deadline.

Your application must not be submitted at the same time as your LOI.

All grantseekers—even if currently or previously funded—must obtain Foundation approval for each step: Pre-Approval, Letter of Inquiry, and Grant Application.

Final decisions are made:
- Friday, February 19
- Friday, May 21
- Friday, September 17
- Friday, November 19
