Grants to Rock County, Minnesota nonprofits, government agencies, and academic and research institutions for programs to enhance the quality of life in the Luverne community. Funding is intended for organizations and projects dedicated to community and civic affairs; social and economic growth; health and wellness; youth; environment; and arts and humanities.

The Luverne Area Community Foundation is committed to developing and allocating financial resources to support area needs and will fulfill its missions through adherence and commitment to the partnerships, long-term solutions, stewardship and resource development.

Successful applicants will present:
- A clear defined issue of community need.
- A detailed plan to help solve the problem.
- Collaboration among relevant organizations.
- Creative utilization of existing community resources.
- A strong evaluation component.

Term of Contract:

Terms of the grant are for a time limit of 6 months unless LACF is otherwise notified by the grantee that an extension is needed.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofit organizations (either singly or as a consortium), government agencies, academic and research institutions located within the Luverne Community areas (Rock County) are among the organizations eligible to request support from the Luverne Area Community Foundation.

The Luverne Area Community Foundation does not approve grants to support the following:
- Annual appeals or membership drives
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Travel for individuals or groups (if that were the primary focus)
- Lobbying activities

Pre-Application Information:

Grant applications are accepted throughout the year but are reviewed semi-annually. Application deadlines are March 31 and September 30.

The Grant Review Committee reviews all applications. An interview in the Foundation's office will be conducted with a representative from the applying organization to share info and answer questions regarding the application. At the Committee’s discretion, a site visit may be requested as part of the proposal evaluation process. The Executive Director will contact the requesting organization during the proposal analysis if the Board of Directors has any questions to be answered.
