Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB)

Grants of up to $10,000 to Central Minnesota nonprofit arts organizations serving Benton, Sherburne, Wright, and Stearns counties. Funding is intended to cover administrative costs, general operations, equipment purchases, as well as for activities to improve access and outreach to underserved communities.
Applications are invited from organizations that demonstrate efficient management and high-quality artistic programming. These funds support organizations that enhance one or more of these three areas:
- Arts and Arts Access: Increasing access to the arts within the community served.
- Arts Education: Age-appropriate activities or experiences that develop knowledge, skills and understanding of the arts.
- Arts and Cultural Heritage: Programming and/or events that represent diverse ethnic and cultural arts traditions.
The Community Arts Support Program is scored using three criteria: Artistic Merit and Quality, Demonstrated Need and Applicant Ability.

The CMAB Community Arts Support Program provides funds up to $10,000 or 20% of a nonprofit arts organization’s last completed fiscal year’s eligible operating expenses, whichever is less.
Applications are available in even-numbered fiscal years for a biennial funding period.
Eligible applicants are established nonprofit 501(c)(3) arts producing/service organizations with an annual operating expenses of $250,000, or less, that have been in existence at least two years and are located in the Minnesota Counties of Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, or Wright (Region 7W).
-Those without an arts-focused mission statement
-Those already receiving Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Funds
-Those without 501(c)(3) status
-Those with less than two-years of established service
-Those intending to influence public policy or to proselytize a belief
-CMAB grant recipients with any overdue final reports
- Draft Review Deadline: January 17, 2018
- Application Deadline: January 31, 2018
- Board Review: March 8, 2018
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on the deadline date.
Applicants are encouraged to call the CMAB office to discuss eligibility or to have a draft of the application reviewed at least two weeks prior to the deadline date (January 17, 2018).
