Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT)
Grants of up to $1,000 to Seattle, Washington schools, community groups, and PTAs to encourage students to walk or bicycle to school. This program supports activities that provide both encouragement and safety education. Funding may be used for a broad range of programs, including, but not limited to:
-Student safety patrol
-Pedestrian education campaigns
-Pedestrian crossing flags
-Walk to School Day events
-Walking School Bus or Bike Train programs
-Bicycle safety skills building events
-Bike to School Day events
-Traffic circulation changes on school property

Up to $1,000
All public and private K-12 schools within the City of Seattle, PTAs, and other school-related nonprofit groups are eligible to apply for Mini Grants.
The deadline for the Department of Transportation to receive a complete application is October 31 for Fall applications and April 30 for Spring applications.
