Grants to Northwest Mississippi nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies, and public charities for proposals that focus on improving education for children and youth through the use of technology. For the purposes of these grants, Northwest Mississippi includes the following Counties: Bolivar, Coahoma, DeSoto, Leflore, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, and Tunica.

Funding may be provided for:

- Summer technology camps for teachers;
- Innovative Technology workshops for students outside regular classroom time;
- Support to purchase technology software for nonprofits to utilize in their work with children and youth;
- Promotion of technology (Ex: )
- Train the Trainer events;
- Entrepreneurship support utilizing EverFi;
- Early Childhood learning: pre-school; summer classes (Ex: preparation to enter 1st grade)

Support may be given to organizations that are recognized as Section 501(c)3 by the Internal Revenue Service, governmental bodies or public charities. The organizations must serve the community with no discrimination by age, race, gender or religion.

The Community Foundation will not consider grants for individuals, exclusively religious purposes, political purposes, or special occasion advertising.

Nonprofit organizations must be able to provide the 501(c)3 determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service (unless a governmental body), Certificate of Registration as a charitable organization with the Mississippi Secretary of State (if applicable), most recent IRS Form 990 if more than $25,000 revenue (annual financial statement if less than $25,000 revenue), and a list of current board members.

Deadlines to submit applications are November 1, February 1, May 1, and August 1.

Please Note the Following:

Priority will be given to grant applications that first show availability of matching funds and second to programs that address the Community Foundation’s priority areas. The Foundation will also consider how grants may raise regional visibility, increase capacity, leverage additional donations, and reward previous grant eligibility.

Grant applications will include permission for site visits to the successful applicant and requirement for written evaluation of results from the grant at a designated time. If no written evaluation is provided, then the applicant will be ineligible for future Foundation grants.

Budgets must include revenue and expense details.
