Grants to Whitefish, Montana nonprofit organizations and government agencies to enhance the quality of life for local residents. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis through the December 31 final deadline. This program is intended to address unexpected needs, and projects that require $500 to $1,000 in funding or less.

Projects that are unique, unexpected, unanticipated, one-time, and demonstrate potential to make a meaningful impact in the community are preferred. Projects that require quick granting action in order to address a community problem or situation are also preferred.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for funding, an organization must be a 501(c)3, government entity, or other IRS recognized charitable entity providing services in or to residents of Whitefish, Montana.

Applications from regional and national organizations are discouraged from applying for small Micro Grants.

The Whitefish Community Foundation does not provide support for the following: religious activities, debt retirement, political activities, pass through organizations, or organizations working primarily to influence legislation.

The Community Foundation does not fund projects retroactively.

Projects that request funding for recurring expenses, travel expenses, general operating expenses, routine maintenance, or projects requesting funding more than once within a twelve-month period are not permitted or eligible and are discouraged.

Requests for office equipment including computers are not eligible for Micro Grants. Computer equipment requests may be submitted through the Emergency Grant Program if it is an emergency.

Pre-Application Information:

The final deadline for applications is December 31, 2017, 11:59 PM MST (Midnight).

The Committee meets on a monthly basis, the second week of each month to review grant applications. Applicants will be notified following the approval process.
