Grants to Connecticut nonprofit organizations, schools, and agencies in eligible locations for support during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Funding may be used for operating expenses, capital purchases, and programs that comply with physical distancing restrictions. Funding is intended to benefit the communities of Barkhamsted, Bethlehem, Canaan (Falls Village), Colebrook, Cornwall, Goshen, Hartland, Harwinton, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Hartford, Norfolk, North Canaan, Salisbury (Lakeville), Sharon, Torrington, Warren, Washington, and Winchester/Winsted.
Support is available for operating expenses, programs that can operate remotely to comply with current physical distancing restrictions, and technology/equipment needed to facilitate remote work for employees or to serve clients remotely, and other COVID-19 related needs. Construction/renovation projects may be considered in very limited circumstances (e.g., creating isolation or quarantine spaces).

Grants are designated as small ($1,500 and under); and traditional (over $1,500). the Foundation’s average grant amount is $5,000.
Grant awards must be expended within nine months of the approval date, or a grant extension request must be submitted and approved. In very rare circumstances, the Foundation will approve a multi-year grant, which will have its own payment schedule and documentation requirements.
