In-kind grants valued at up to $625 to Idaho schools to increase participation in school meal programs. During the upcoming cycle, schools will be able to apply for a commercial blender that will improve accessibility to healthy food offerings in school.

Funding is intended to support national school breakfast and lunch programs and provide nutritious and wholesome food to students.

Commercial blender and optional additional pitcher specs:

- 64-oz, BPA-free co-polyester jar/lid and center cap; 3.5 peak high-power motor with 30-second countdown timer
- Estimated value $500 plus $125 for additional pitcher

Granted equipment is to be only for school meal service. The application must clearly explain how the school intends to utilize the granted equipment, and how the equipment will increase participation and make a difference in your school meals program.

Proposals must share innovative menu ideas and recipes utilizing dairy with the Idaho Dairy Council. Special compensation may be offered. Applicants must bid and serve local Idaho dairy products.

Please note that service calls and any costs incurred for equipment repairs and/or maintenance are the responsibility of the school district or school.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

All Idaho schools who participate in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs are eligible to apply.

Granted equipment is to be used ONLY for school meal service.

Pre-Application Information:

Grant Applications are due by 5:00 pm on the 15th of the month featuring the selected equipment. Please refer to the grant calendar to see which months feature selected equipment:

The upcoming deadline for 2017 is November 15.

The District Food Service Director must complete the application.
