Grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 to Louisiana nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools, universities, and civic organizations to promote recycling and environmental stewardship. This program is intended to support community action in the areas of litter cleanup, litter enforcement, waste reduction, reuse and recycle initiatives, environmental stewardship, environmental training and workshops, hazardous waste, and water pollution.

KLB supports strong, sustainable, action-oriented programs dedicated to our mission that demonstrate a clear commitment to community education, volunteer engagement and behavior change.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Awards vary from $1,000 to $10,000.

Term of Contract:

The grant period will begin on or after July 15, 2018 and will end on May 1, 2019.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Louisiana non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, governmental agencies, schools and universities, KAB affiliates, and pre-certified affiliates are eligible to apply.

Please submit the Grant Application, Terms and Conditions pages outlined in the application packet, a Memorandum of Understanding (if applicable), and a copy of your IRS determination letter.

Governmental agencies should submit a resolution from the governing board approving the application for grant funding.

Youth-focused organizations and clubs are eligible to apply (for example; sororities, fraternities, Girl Scout troops, and Beta Clubs) with the additional requirement of a memorandum of understanding from an eligible 501(c)(3) organization or school validating its intent to act as a fiscal agent for the applicant.

Individuals, KLB board members and staff are not eligible.

Gardening projects, tree planting, purchase of computers and printers, travel expenses, food and beverage, registration fees, cash awards, expenses associated with fundraising activities, and projects conducted on private property will not be funded.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications for the 2018 grant cycle will open on January 16 and are due on April 6, 2018. Applicants will be notified about the status of their application by June 15, 2018.

This is a reimbursement grant. Reimbursements will be dispersed twice during the grant cycle, after December 1, 2018 and May 1, 2019.
