Fellowships of $4,000 to USA, Canada, and International medical, graduate, and undergraduate students for medical research. Funding is intended for clinical, translational, behavioral, or epidemiological, or basic research projects. The goal of the program is to foster an interest in lupus research among young scientists. Applications for COVID-19 research and diversity for people with lupus are strongly encouraged.

Fellowship awards of $4,000

Term of Contract:

Earliest award date is June 4th. The research project should span across 4-12 weeks during months June through August. Awards cannot be postponed for use in a later year or be carried out for two or more summers.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Undergraduates through Medical Residents, Master’s and PhD students may apply.

Students must work under the sponsorship and supervision of an established, tenure-track principal investigator who directs a laboratory dedicated at least in part to the investigation of lupus at an academic, medical, or research institution. The institution must be in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.

2 of the awards are designated for people who identify as underrepresented minorities.
