Fredericton Community Foundation
Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to Greater Fredericton Region, New Brunswick nonprofit organizations, athletic associations, schools, and municipalities for a broad range of activities benefitting local communities. Program areas include arts and culture, heritage, environment, youth, health and wellness, athletics, social development, and education.
The Foundation seeks to enhance and strengthen the quality of life of all citizens in the Greater Fredericton Region through ambitious and meaningful grant-making. The Foundation proactively engages in community leadership, and the development and stewardship of endowed funds. In this way, the Foundation offers opportunities for concerned and caring citizens to give something back to the community that has nurtured them.

While there are no limits on the Community Grants, they are usually in the range of $500 to $5,000.
The Fredericton Community Foundation supports charities in the Greater Fredericton Area in a wide range of programs. While “Greater Fredericton” is not defined, the Foundation has granted to organizations in communities throughout various parts of central New Brunswick. If you are wondering if your community is eligible, please contact program staff.
The following types of organizations will be deemed eligible for a grant from the Fredericton Community Foundation:
-A registered Canadian charity.
-A registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association.
-A municipality in the Greater Fredericton Area.
-Her Majesty in right of Canada and the Province of New Brunswick and agents thereof (Federal and Provincial Government and Agencies) eg. Schools.
The following types of organizations and activities will be deemed ineligible for a grant from the Fredericton Community Foundation:
-Non-registered charitable institutions unless supported by a qualified organization described above.
-Organizations that are profit orientated.
-Activities that are political or religious in nature (this does not preclude religious organizations from applying if they are delivering a service to the community that is not religious or faith based).
-Organizations not located or operating within the Greater Fredericton area.
-Individuals, unless the request is deemed unique and unusual and then only through an organization as described above.
-Annual Fund Drives.
-Core operating expenses of Organizations, unless it is critical to mission delivery
The application must be received in the Foundation office on or before the deadline of April 1st or October 1st.
