Grants of up to $10,000 to Indiana organizations and groups for projects that benefit communities in eligible locations. Previous grant recipients include groups such as senior citizens organizations, schools, children's organizations, volunteer fire departments, and music groups. Funds must serve Hancock County, and parts of Hamilton, Madison, and Rush Counties.

Through the Operation Round-Up Program, the NineStar Community Trust accumulates and distributes charitable funds to groups and organizations within their service areas. The source of these funds is NineStar’s members who generously volunteer for their bills to be rounded up to the next highest dollar amount so they can donate the difference. Donations are accumulated by the co-op and transferred to NineStar Community Trust.

The maximum amount available is $10,000 per annual request.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Operation RoundUp funds are to be used to benefit communities, organizations, and individuals within the NineStar Connect service area (Hancock County and parts of Hamilton, Madison, and Rush counties). Any group, organization, or charity with a primary mission that benefits a significant portion of NineStar’s membership is eligible for funds.

Requests for political contributions or utility bill payments are not considered.

Pre-Application Information:

This year’s application deadlines are January 8, April 9, July 9 and October 8, 2021.

Applications will be reviewed by a 15- member Board of Trustees, which meets at least quarterly. Applicants will be notified of the Board’s decision within 30 days following Board action on each application. The 2021 meeting dates are February 4, May 6, August 5 and November 4.
