Grants of up to $25,000 to Bay Area, California nonprofit organizations to promote participation in youth amateur athletics. Funding is available for both program support and facilities development. Eligible Counties include Contra Costa, Alameda, Napa, Marin, San Mateo, San Francisco, Solano, Santa Clara, and Sonoma.

The Olympic Club Foundation’s mission is to financially support programs which share its belief that participation in organized athletics enriches young lives and develops future community leaders.

Types of Grants:

-Youth athletic programs: program costs, uniforms, equipment, coaching staff, facility rentals, entrance fees, team travel costs, player fees for sports teams, etc.

-Development and renovation of athletic facilities

The Foundation will consider requests for support up to $25,000 (please be aware the average grant size is $7,000).

Multi-year projects will be considered.

Applications must include your organization’s letter from the United States Treasury Office stating your organization is tax exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and "not a private foundation" as defined in Internal Revenue Code Sections 509(a) and 170(b)(1)(A). No grant will be considered for an organization that does not have this status.

The OCF does not fund:
-Organizations that have received funding in two consecutive of the last three years
-Unified school districts
-Proposal requests for administrative and operating costs
-Therapeutic athletic activities, academic programs, playgrounds, non-sports summer camps and nutrition programs

Applications for matching or challenge grants are encouraged.

Grant Cycle 1:
-Application Due: February 28, 2017
-Grants Announced: June 1, 2017
-Checks Distributed: July 1, 2017

Grant Cycle 2:
-Application Due: July 31, 2017
-Grants Announced: November 30, 2017
-Checks Distributed: December 15, 2017
