DTE Energy Foundation
Grants to USA nonprofit organizations in multiple states to benefit communities within the funding source’s service area. Eligible states include Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New York City, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
The DTE Energy Foundation supports a number of pre-determined signature initiatives, programs and anchor institutions year after year. The Foundation is committed to providing assistance to its core partners through programmatic and financial support.
Additional funds are available to take advantage of new opportunities and to expand existing programs with these core partners. With the remaining uncommitted funds, the Foundation provides grants based on its giving priorities. The Foundation strongly believes in making a lasting impact and difference in DTE Energy’s communities.

To be considered for a charitable contribution from DTE Energy or the DTE Energy Foundation, the requesting organization must meet all of the following criteria:
-Be located in or provide services to a community in which DTE Energy does business
-Be a nonprofit (i.e. be exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not a private foundation, as defined in Section 509(a) of the Code)
Contributions are not given to:
-Individuals (including those seeking direct scholarships)
-Political parties, organizations or activities
-Religious organizations for religious (denominational) purposes
-Organizations that are not able to demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity (clients, staff and board composition)
-Student group trips
-National or international organizations, unless they are providing benefits directly to DTE Energy’s service-area residents
-Projects that may result in undue personal benefit to a member of the DTE Energy Foundation board or to any DTE Energy employee
-Conferences, unless they are aligned with DTE Energy's business interests
-Single purpose health organizations
-Hospitals, for building or equipment needs
The DTE Energy Foundation meets at the end of each quarter. Application deadline dates are as follows:
-Application Period: January 22 - February 2
-Responses By: May 25, 2018
-Application Period: April 23, May 4
-Responses By: August 10, 2018
-Application Period: July 23 - August 3
-Responses By: November 16, 2018
-Application Period: October 22 - November 2
-Responses By: February 8, 2019
