Grants of up to $500 to South Carolina educators and grants of up to $2,000 to groups of educators to enhance learning in Lancaster County, Fort Lawn, and Great Falls. This program supports collaboration between educators, students, and teachers through shared activities and projects. Funding is intended to expand student learning within the framework of a healthy community.

The J. Marion Sims Foundation is committed to empowering youth to become philanthropists. Area students will have the opportunity to serve on the Youth Review Committee.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Educators have the option to apply for one $500 grant and one multi-educator grant up to $2,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Educators and educator groups in South Carolina are welcome to apply.

All funded projects will serve the citizens of the Foundation’s service area of Lancaster County, Fort Lawn and Great Falls, South Carolina.

- August 1, 2018: HORIZON Education Grant application link opens
- September 1, 2018: Application due for decisions in October
- October 15, 2018: HORIZON Education Awards released

Cycle 2:
- December 1, 2018: Application due for decision in January
- January 15, 2019: HORIZON Education Awards released

Cycle 3:
- February 1, 2019: Application due for decision in March
- March 15, 2019: HORIZON Education Awards released
