Grants of up to $2,500 to Ontario registered charities and municipalities in Cambridge and North Dumfries for projects in the environment, arts and culture, early literacy, youth and recreation, and children and youth-at-risk. Grants are intended to support creative and valuable initiatives in the community.

The Foundation considers requests for:
- Program development,
- Pilot projects,
- Equipment,
- Program resources,
- Small capital projects,
- Other initiatives that strengthen the community within Cambridge and North Dumfries

Note: Any of the above requests may include amounts for the program or project operating expenses. However, a grant proposal that is generally focused on salaries and the organization’s overhead expenses will not be considered for funding.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The maximum grant allocated through the community grants program is $2,500.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants should have status as a registered charitable organization or municipality, or have a Qualified Donee. For more information, see

Applicants who are not registered charitable organizations must establish a Partnership Agreement with a Qualified Donee, this can be a Registered Charity or Municipality.

Community Grants are not available for the following purposes:
- Conference attendance,
- Religious or political purposes,
- Team or club sponsorship/membership,
- Deficit reduction/general operating expenses,
- Scholarship or fellowships,
- Tours or travel outside the community,
- Fundraising campaigns,
- Funding organizations seeking funds for others

Pre-Application Information:

Applications accepted: March 4 – April 5, 2019

The Foundation asks applicants to identify the total funds needed for the program or project. Approved applications that do not receive full funding will be presented to the Foundation's Donor-Advised fund-holders for consideration.
