Grants of up to $400 to Mississippi teachers to enhance education for academically and intellectually gifted children. This program assists qualifying teachers in acquiring resources and materials to challenge gifted students. The materials must serve the teacher’s intent to provide content that is supplementary to and different from the regular curriculum.

It must be demonstrated that instructional materials focus on the interest area(s) of the gifted student(s) and meet the advanced instructional level of the student(s) for whom the grant is being submitted.

Field trip experiences may be the focus of the grant, if evidence of student interest and need are clearly demonstrated.

Grant materials may be technology based.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Gifted education teachers who teach intellectually or academically gifted students in the public schools in Mississippi may apply.

Pre-Application Information:

The gifted education teacher submitting application for the CCTG must have support from the principal of the school where the applicant teaches demonstrated through a signed statement submitted with grant application.

Grant applications must be received by the MAGC Scholarships/Awards Chair by July 15 in the year grant funds are requested.

Grant recipients are announced in the fall at the state conference.
