Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $1,500 to Greenville County, South Carolina individual artists for artistic development projects. Funding may be used to help cover project costs, such as exhibits and publicity or marketing plans. Grants are awarded to help underwrite actual project costs, not ordinary living expenses, and are intended to further the artistic development and growth of local artists through exhibit opportunities, conferences, workshops and other professional development engagements.

Projects should begin or take place during August – October 2018.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy ALL eligibility requirements as follows:

-Be practicing artists in dance, music, literature, media, theater or visual arts.
-Be at least 18 years old and not matriculating students throughout the grant cycle.
-Be a permanent resident of Greenville County for a minimum of 6 months prior to the application deadline and during the grant period. Must be able to prove residency if asked by panel.

Funds are not intended for ordinary living expenses.

Applicants who have outstanding MAC project support activities or reports are ineligible to apply for funds until all previously awarded grant requirements have been completed and approved.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be postmarked or delivered to the MAC office by 5:00 PM PM of the deadline date.

Quarterly deadlines:

1st Q: Thursday, February 15
For projects beginning or taking place during May – July 2018

2nd Q: Tuesday, May 15
For projects beginning or taking place during August – October 2018

3rd Q: Wednesday, August 15
For projects beginning or taking place during November 2018 – January 2019

4th Q: Thursday, November 15
For projects beginning or taking place during February – April 2019

A 1:1 match is required of which no more than 25% of total costs may be met by in-kind contributions.
