Rowan Arts Council (RAC)
Grants to Rowan County, North Carolina arts and cultural development organizations and individual artists to enhance arts and cultural opportunities throughout the county. Individual artists may request support for teaching, residencies, and other projects. Areas of support under this grant program include the following:
-Individual artists (residency, teaching, projects, etc.)
-Acquisition of public art and or support of acquiring public art
-Development of new arts and cultural related facilities and programs, or other start-up initiatives
-Local schools seeking expanded arts & cultural opportunities
-Youth/children related arts and cultural initiatives
-Diversity and multicultural arts and cultural outreach and programs
-Collaborative initiatives between multiple organizations and artists
-Arts and cultural advocacy, shows, events, and activities
-Support and matching funds for community-wide arts and cultural programs applying for, and seeking substantial grants.
-Private, not-for-profit arts organization based in Rowan County

Grants are available for arts and cultural development organizations and individual artists
-A mission that focuses on arts and culture
-Demonstrates the ability to provide arts and cultural program, and/or fulfill the grant project.
ACD Grant recipient requirements:
-Organizations must demonstrate financial solvency, and submit annual financial statements
-Organization or individual does not already receive City or County arts and cultural funding.
-Individual artists seeking ACD funds must demonstrate basic financial solvency in relation to the ability to fulfill the program to which grant funds are being requested. Individual artists must have a public showing of the completed project, and must demonstrate how the project benefits the Rowan County community.
ACD Grants are not to be used for:
-Programs outside of Rowan County
-Purchase of equipment and/or supplies that serve no primary purpose in providing arts and culture in Rowan County
Grants will be awarded in two cycles each year. Applications are due on April 1 and November 2.
Grant recipients will be notified of award and amount of award within two months of application. Official notification will be by mail.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to have matching grant funds when applying for ACD Grants.
