Grants to New Jersey organizations, corporations, cooperatives, government agencies, school boards, institutions, and universities for projects that advance the production and marketing of wine. Eligible requests include research and development projects involving viticultural and wine-making processes, as well as the marketing and promotion of New Jersey’s wine industry.

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture/ New Jersey Wine Industry Advisory Council (NJWIAC) awards grants for wine industry projects to address research, development and promotion of the New Jersey Wine Industry. The NJWIAC will accept grant applications for projects benefiting the wine industry through research and development concerning the viticultural and wine-making processes in the State and for the promotion of the New Jersey Wine Industry. Proposed projects must benefit the wine industry as a whole and funded project activities may not exclude any plenary and/or farm wine licensee whose sales of New Jersey wine contribute to the Wine Promotion Account and who wishes to participate. 

Grant funds must be used for the New Jersey wine industry during calendar year 2021 in one or more of the following: 

  • Research concerning vitacultural and winemaking processes
  • Market development, and/or promotion programs

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grant applications submitted by organizations, cooperatives, partnerships, corporations, and other multi-member entities must be accompanied by a list of members and major stakeholders (10% or more) in order for the grant to be considered. This requirement does not pertain to universities, school boards, institutions or government entities.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for the receipt of applications is May 3, 2021.

A response of the approval or disapproval of applications will be sent no later than June 30, 2021.

Please note that research and marketing projects will be considered separately, therefore separate applications are required. Applicants may submit multiple applications.
