The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region - The John D. Picotte Family Foundation
Grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 to Capital Region, New York nonprofit organizations for programs in the areas of education, health, housing, arts, and the advancement of science. The purpose of this program is to significantly impact the quality of life in Columbia, Albany, Greene, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, and Washington Counties.

Grants from this fund usually range between $5,000 and $20,000.
Grant recipients are required to submit a written evaluation of the project at 6 months and within 60 days of the conclusion of the grant period. In the case of multi-year grants, more frequent reporting may be required.
To be eligible for competitive grants, applicants must meet the following requirements:
-Qualify under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a nonprofit organization OR operate under the fiscal sponsorship of an organization that does;
-Serve residents and be located within the ten-county greater Capital Region (Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, and Washington Counties) unless otherwise noted.
The Foundation does not give grants to individuals.
Applications are due September 12, 2018. Occasionally, complex applications will require additional time to review. Applicants will be kept informed of their proposal’s progress.
