Lyon County Room Tax Board
Grants to Lyon County, Nevada organizations for the promotion and advertising of local tourism opportunities. Requests must demonstrate the potential to benefit the tourism industry, increase use of local lodging facilities, generate dollars spent within Lyon County and, in general, attract visitors from outside Lyon County.
Room Tax funds must be used to advertise the resources of the County related to tourism, including, but not limited to, available accommodations, transportation, entertainment, natural resources, climate and to promote special events. The advertising is restricted to the following types of media: television, radio, newspaper, magazine, internet, or brochures.

The deadline for the grant application being received by the Comptroller's Office is June 7, 2019.
Your project/event if a one day event must provide at least 25% of the cash for that one day event, or 0% of the cash for a two day event.
The Room Tax Board has a semi-annual funding cycle, which runs from January 1 through June 30 and from July 1 through December 31. The meetings are held on the second Wednesday of December and the third Wednesday in June at 10:00 am unless otherwise scheduled. Applicants must be present at the room tax meeting to be awarded funding. Room Tax Board meetings are held in the County Commissioner’s Meeting Room at 27 S Main St, Yerington, NV.
To be eligible for reimbursement, all expenditures must occur during the grant period. This means radio, newspaper advertising, etc. must actually be performed, not just contracted. The actual date of the event doesn’t have to be in the grant period, just the dates of the actual advertising.
