Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Foundation gives priority to proposals from California organizations.

The Foundation does not make grants to individuals or to organizations that are not 501(c)(3) public charities.

Pre-Application Information:

The foundation has two funding rounds each year, typically in May or June and November.

Nonprofit organizations seeking a grant from the foundation should begin by submitting an LOI application through the foundation’s online application system. The application consists of a brief description of your organization, the purpose and scope of the project, and a projected project budget.

The Foundation's next deadline for receiving LOI applications is August 1, 2018.

(Applicants may submit an LOI at any time. The deadline date means that the Foundation will consider the request before the next round of funding. Even if a request is submitted after the deadline, it may still be considered for the next round of funding but there is no guarantee that we will be able to do this.)

If the foundation requests a full proposal, the applicant will be given access to the proposal application process through the online application system.

The Foundation suggests that applicants review past grants approved by the foundation before applying for funding.
