Juneau Community Foundation - Douglas-Dornan Foundation Fund
Grants typically ranging from $200 to $4,000 to Southeast Alaska nonprofit organizations for programs that improve the education, health, and welfare of local individuals and families. Funding is intended to support projects and programs that effectively respond to the needs of the Juneau area community.
Examples of possible Foundation financial support include, but are not limited to:
- Charitable organizations, foundations or other nonprofit 501(c) (3) organizations, or child care institutions, foster parent programs, and early childhood education programs in Southeast Alaska.
- Individuals, within organizations, who are pursuing special training/education in any field of professional endeavor, for use in defraying costs for tuition, transportation or lodging expenses related to attendance at professional conferences, training or educational programs.
- Events or special services that enhance the overall quality of life, such as through amateur sports organizations or children’s music and theater activities, and encourage participation through sponsorship of programs and events open to all individuals.
Grants are awarded to applicants who demonstrate sufficient need for services, equipment, activities, and/or training that support children, youth, elders and/or other special needs groups. Examples of funding requests are books, supplies, travel and tuition reimbursement, conference support, and other services.
Applications will be evaluated based on the quality of program to be supported or attended, reasonableness and accuracy of proposed budget, background and experience of applicant, support from other sources, and appropriateness to the objectives of the Fund.

Grants typically range in amounts from $200 to $4,000 per award, and do not exceed $5,000.
Eligible applicants include:
-Charitable organizations, foundations or other non-profit 501(c) (3) organizations, or child care institutions.
-Individuals, within organizations.
Grants are not awarded to individuals seeking college tuition or money to be used exclusively for personal development.
-Applications are accepted after April 1 each year.
-Completed applications must be mailed and postmarked no later than June 1.
-Grants are usually awarded by September 1
