Grants to Missoula County, Montana nonprofit organizations and government agencies that provide basic needs through a range of services to at-risk groups. Funding is intended to create a safety net for at-risk populations with basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, and emergency transportation.

Eligible entities are not-for-profit health and human service organizations or governmental agencies that provide basic needs assistance to at-risk populations in Missoula County.
The deadline for submission of a complete application is 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
The process for submitting a Community Assistance Fund application will solely be done by completing an online Applicant Information Form and uploading electronic files.
The following is a preliminary timeline of activities associated with the submission, review, and award process for the Community Assistance Fund program.
-Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) issue date: April 2, 2019
-Application deadline – Electronic Submission Only: 3 p.m. May 15, 2019
-Staff compilation of applications: May 16‐17, 2019
-Q & A interviews with applicants by CAF Review Committee: June 3 and 4, 2019
-Preliminary recommendations for CAF funding provided to county administrative staff for consideration during development of fiscal year 2020 budget: June 2019
-Staff notifies applicants of tentative CAF award amounts: July 2019
Applicants may be requested to submit revisions.
-Board of County Commissioners approve final county budget, including Community Assistance Fund budget: August 2019
-Staff notifies applicants of final award and FY20 process for contracting begins: September 2019
Applicants will have an opportunity to participate in a 10‐minute Question and Answer (Q & A) session with the review committee, the purpose being to respond to or clarify any questions the review committee members may have about an application. Shortly thereafter, the review committee will meet to discuss and score applications.
During the period from June through August 2019, the grants administrator will provide county administrators with preliminary recommendations proposed by the review committee. During this period, adjustments to those recommendations may occur, depending upon the anticipated fiscal year 2020 budget. Applicants may be requested to submit revised budgets. Final adoption of Missoula County’s fiscal year budget typically occurs at the end of August after which the process for finalizing FY20 contracts with Community Assistance Fund grant awardees will begin.
