Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation
Grants of up to $2,500 to New Mexico school districts, nonprofit educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and Pueblo or Tribal communities to enhance K-12 education. Eligible applicants serve communities in Mora, Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Sandoval, San Miguel, Taos, and Santa Fe Counties.
Funding must be used to directly support education activities serving public school children. This program is not restricted to STEM disciplines.

The number of education grants given to each public school district in the Foundation’s service area is now based on the size of the district. Please see the Pre-Application Information below for more information about district grant availability.
Grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded.
In some cases, larger amounts are given to support sustainability of promising programs (by invitation only).
Recipients have one full year to spend the grant money.
The LANL Foundation’s Education Outreach Grants are open to school districts, nonprofit New Mexico educational institutions, IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) organizations, government agencies, and Pueblo/Tribal communities serving Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, and Taos Counties.
-501(c)(3) charitable organizations not registered with the Registry of Charitable Organizations under the Office of the New Mexico Attorney as required by the New Mexico Charitable Solicitations Act
-Individuals or fraternal, veteran, labor or athletic organizations serving a limited constituency
-Political or lobbying organizations, or those supporting the candidacy of particular individuals
-Organizations whose activities are mainly international, requests for international travel
-Capital fund drives of colleges
-Awardees of prior LANL Foundation grants that did not meet all of the reporting deadlines or other requirements of the funding agreement
There are two grant cycles in 2018:
-Application deadline: Feb. 15, 2018
-Award Notification & Funding: Mar. 15, 2018
-Application deadline: Aug. 15, 2018
-Award Notification: Sept. 15, 2018
Grants Available by School District:
The number of education grants given to each public school district in the Foundation’s service area is now based on the size of the district. If your school receives a grant, please notify your business office, so others may know how many are still available to your district. Or, before applying, check with Susanne Miller to see if grants are still available.
