Grants to USA credit unions, nonprofits, schools, and faith-based organizations partnering with credit unions in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas to strengthen communities through financial education programming. Applications are invited from credit unions and affiliated organizations to offer financial literacy programs and services to their constituents, members, and other stakeholders.

Who May Apply:

Credit unions - Credit unions that have applied for a training calendar grant may also apply for a Financial Education Grant, so long as the grant will support a community or member outreach program, and incorporates a financial education component.

Partner organizations - Partner organizations are required to have credit union involvement associated with grant requests, such as utilizing credit union volunteers, programs for credit union members, and community collaborations. Sound financial management must also be demonstrated by the applicant. Eligible non-credit union related partners may include:

-Nonprofit, community service organizations (ex: YMCA, Scouts, Boy & Girls Clubs, Consumer Credit Counseling, Community Affordable Housing or Asset Building Organizations)

-Education-related organizations or schools (ex: Junior Achievement, Partners in Education, Communities in Schools, Newspapers in Education, Schools, Districts, Parent-Teacher Organizations, Educator Continuing Education Programs)

-Religious organizations (as long as the program or services are open to the community at large and/or credit union membership)


1) The applicant must be an employee of an Arkansas, Oklahoma or Texas credit union or a 501(c)(3) organization that strives to improve the financial educational needs in their community.

2) Credit Unions are eligible for one Training Calendar grant, one CIF Development grant, and one Financial Education grant per year.

3) Chapters and nonprofit organizations are eligible for one grant per year.

4) Nonprofit organizations applying for a financial education community grant must have a credit union partner.

5) Junior Achievement programs will be considered for funding only through the credit union partner applicant.

The Foundation will not fund the following:
-Requests that involve a liability to the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation (CSCUF) beyond the amount of the grant;
-Requests for general operating costs or capital improvement support;
-Cash donation to a third party or for investments in or for the purchase of land and real estate, buildings,
stock, securities, or any other similar type of investment;
-Fraternal organizations or religious organizations for religious purposes;
-Political entities, organizations or activities;
-Conference travel outside of the continental US;
-Organizations that discriminate on the basis of sex, religion, gender or national origin.
