Grants to Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Hampshire nonprofit organizations for programs to benefit older individuals. Applicants must submit an LOI prior to submitting a full proposal. Funding is intended for activities that will encourage systemic change and policies leading to age-friendly communities.

Advocacy includes purposeful and intentional activities to educate and inform decision-makers as well as activities that involve older people as essential stakeholders in policy and systems change. Organizing efforts should recognize older people as important assets to community and ensure their voices are elevated and heard. Organizing work should promote policies leading to age-friendly communities.

Proposals should:

  • Impact healthy aging
  • Be inclusive (i.e. engage older people)
  • Increase equity, especially for communities of color
  • Be collaborative

Term of Contract:

Grant Period: January 1 - December 31. Multi-year proposals will be considered.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Foundation funds Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island nonprofits that improve healthy aging.

The Foundation does not fund:
- Candidates for public office
- Capital projects and/or equipment
- Development activities, such as fundraising events, capital campaigns, or annual fund drives
- Endowments
- General operating expenses
- Government agencies (unless within a collaboration led by a community-based organization)
- Individuals (including scholarships, internships, and/or fellowships)
- Lobbying
- Private foundations
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Research for specific disease states
- Underwriting of medical expenses

Pre-proposal Conference:

The next Policy and Advocacy session will be held in early summer 2021.
