Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $2,500 and grants of up to $8,000 to Oklahoma nonprofits, schools, and individuals to benefit local residents with developmental disabilities. Potential applicants must contact the funding source by July 3, 2018. Funding is intended to assist those with developmental disabilities in pushing their boundaries and gaining independence.

For organizations, the following are eligible for funding:

- Environmental and recreational adaptations
- Classroom cognition and developmental equipment
- Sheltered workshop equipment and activities

For individuals, assistance may be provided for:

- Aids for daily living
- Mobility seating/positioning
- Classroom learning cognition and developmental equipment
- Environmental and recreational adaptations

Estimated Size of Grant:

Organizations: Grants up to $8,000 will be awarded
Individuals: Grants up to $2,500 will be awarded.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

For Organizations:
- Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, an accredited public or private school, or other publicly-supported agency.
- Organization must be located in the state of Oklahoma.
- Applicant must provide direct services to individuals with severe to profound intellectual and/or developmental disorder (IDD).

For Individuals:
- Applicant must have a diagnosis of a severe to profound intellectual and/or developmental disorder (IDD) and a need that is unmet by government or private sources.
- Applicants can be of any age.
- Applicants must reside in the state of Oklahoma.
- Because there are limited funds available, applications are evaluated and grants will be made where there can be the most impact. Financial need must be documented.

The Donna Nigh Foundation will not accept grant applications requesting funding for special events or capital/maintenance improvements.

Pre-Application Information:

For organizations, to apply email a brief description of your project to Jennifer Stewart. If your organization and the project fit the criteria, you will be sent an access code and link for the online application.

The request for the link to the online application must be submitted no later than July 3, 2018. Any requests after that time will not be considered.
