The funding source has operations in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.

Applications are invited from nonprofits with missions that align with the following three priority areas:

-Food Security & Hunger Relief: Partnering with organizations that promote access to fresh, quality food sources and supplying food banks and food pantries

-Health Education & Nutrition: Partnering with organizations that promote programs fostering sound nutrition and healthy physical activity in children

-Disabilities & Health Concerns: Partnering with organizations that provide direct services and support that improve the quality of life for people living with disabilities and health concerns

All organizations funded by the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation must serve the community where Sprouts Farmers Market operates stores.

Nonprofit organizations must be able to provide their nonprofit status. Organizations are required to provide financial documents when submitting a funding request and we research organizations using GuideStar and other similar sites when considering a funding request

The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation does not fund:
-Individuals or for-profit organizations
-Political organizations or activities
-Religious organizations for religious purposes
-Capital or building campaigns
-Advocacy programs
-Meetings, conferences or workshops
-Sports teams or athletic competitions
