Army Heritage Center Foundation
Grants of up to $1,750 to USA unfunded independent researchers to study under-explored areas of military history at an army heritage center located in Pennsylvania. Funding will cover meals, lodging, airfare or mileage reimbursement, and a photocopying allowance.
Funded research is to be conducted at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) in Carlisle, PA. Competitive proposals will evidence a clear understanding of the existing research in the field and how the proposed work examines an under explored topic of military history. Applicants are expected to demonstrate both an analytical and descriptive grasp of the project and its ability to use the resources of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education collection.

The Army Heritage Center Foundation is pleased to announce the LTC John William Whitman Research Grant. This grant of up to $1,750 is designed to provide monetary support to unfunded independent researchers who are working on under-explored topics of military history. Funded research is to be conducted at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) in Carlisle, Pa.

Applicants interested in the LTC John William Whitman Research Grant should submit the attached applications including a proposed project budget, to the Army Heritage Center Foundation not later than March 1, 2018.
Two letters of reference from persons familiar with the applicant’s scholarly work are required. Letters must be received by the deadline and mailed or emailed directly to the Army Heritage Center Foundation.
Awarding of the grant will occur not later than April 1, 2018.
Upon the submittal of vouchers and receipts, the Foundation will reimburse grantee for expenses related to research.
