Grants to Edmonton, Alberta nonprofit organizations to form collaborative partnerships to better meet the needs of refugee and immigrant communities. Applicants must receive approval from program staff prior to submitting a letter of intent.
Priority will be given to partnerships that focus on:
- Employment skills training, job mentorship and/or on-the-job training
- Connecting youth from all backgrounds
- Creating opportunities for culturally diverse inter-generational activities or programs

Up to $100,000
Partnerships will include at least one organization who is:
-A registered not for profit or public organization that has delivered programs or services in the community for at least 8 years
-Financially sustainable with a variety of funding sources
-Recognized in the broader community for their credibility and expertise
-Sound governance practices including annual general meeting documentation, year end financial statements that follow generally accepted accounting procedures, proof of annual filing with Corporate Registry.
And at least one partner who has:
-Been registered as a not for profit organization from within an emerging immigrant or refugee community
-Sound governance practices including annual general meeting documentation, year end financial statements that follow generally accepted accounting principles, proof of annual filing with Corporate Registry
-Positive grant history with the City of Edmonton
Ineligible Activities and Expenses:
-Purchase of alcohol and other restricted materials
-Capital expenses, mortgage payments, debt repayment
-Programs or services of a political or religious nature
Applications are by invitation only. Call the Community Grants Office Grant to discuss the project prior to submitting a letter of intent. You may be invited to apply online upon approval of your letter of intent.

- First Round: March 2, 2018 at 11:59pm
- Second Round: September 7, 2018 at 11:59pm
