University of Hawaii School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) - TGIF Organization
Grants of up to $1,000 to Hawaii educators for hands-on STEM projects. Funding is intended to engage students in learning about ocean and earth science. Priority is given to O’ahu school teachers, but teachers from other islands, as well as other educational groups (e.g. homeschool groups) are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Funds will be awarded after review by scientists and educators in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) at the University of Hawaii. Applications are assessed on merit, cost, feasibility, and impact.

Grants are available for small (up to $500) or large (up to $1,000) projects.

The deadline for the 2018 SOEST TGIF mini-grant has been extended to January 21, 2018. All materials must be submitted by this date for consideration.
After the application has closed, please allow at least 2 weeks for the coordinator to organize the review process. After review by scientists and educators in SOEST, the coordinator will notify all applicants via email as to their funding status, and funds will be mailed directly to the school or organization.
