Grants ranging from $10,000 to $15,000 to North Carolina nonprofit organizations to benefit children and youth between the ages of 0 to 18 living with cerebral palsy or other neuromuscular disorders. Qualifying organizations may request block funding for the purchase of one-time medical expenditures and necessary equipment on behalf of the families they serve.

Funds received through the Durham Cerebral Palsy Foundation Fund should be used to purchase, and/or provide funds directly to families to purchase:
-Necessary equipment, including wheelchairs, restraints, orthoses, strollers, accessibility equipment, etc.,
-Special one-time services or treatments, or
-Van lifts or other accessibility modifications

Starting in 2017, nonprofit grantees will receive block grants to purchase necessary equipment or one-time medical expenditures on behalf of the families they serve.

Up to 10% of the total grant amount may be used to cover organizational expenses related to administering the grant funds.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Durham Cerebral Palsy Foundation Fund accepts applications from nonprofits that serve children who:
-Are ages birth through 18;
-Live in the state of North Carolina; and
-Are diagnosed with cerebral palsy and/or other neuromuscular disorders

Funds received through the Durham Cerebral Palsy Foundation Fund should NOT be used for: living expenses; ongoing or long-term expenses; ongoing, long-term therapy or services; ongoing service delivery; equipment that has already been purchased and paid in full.

Applications are due on October 1, 2018.
