Foundation / Corporation
Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO)
Grants starting at $50,000 to Minnesota organizations for capital projects to enhance habitats and water quality of eligible watersheds. Funding is intended to support innovative, large-scale projects that implement stormwater management technology or attain the funding source’s high standards for water quality treatment.
Eligible projects include those that are either implemented on public land within an MWMO member community or implemented on private property and able show a demonstrable public benefit. MWMO funds are reserved for project components that are above-and-beyond typical stormwater management.
In addition to water management, the MWMO underscores habitat improvement and restoration projects, as well as those projects specific to riverbank stabilization and erosion control.
Member communities of the watershed include Columbia Heights, Fridley, Hilltop, Lauderdale, Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, St. Anthony Village and Saint Paul.
