New Mexico Space Grant Consortium (NMSGC)
Scholarships to New Mexico students majoring in education to design and develop a math or science resource unit plan that is relevant to NASA’s mission. Pre-service teachers will use the unit during their student teaching semester. In-service teachers will use the unit in their own classrooms. Student teaching may be performed at the elementary or secondary levels.
The resource unit plan must relate to NASA’s unique mission of research and discovery as a framework for inspiration and student learning. The resource unit plan must also relate to Common Core State Standards (or NM Performance and Benchmarks Standards) applicable to the grade level the student teacher has been placed. For specific requirements, please see application. In-service teachers must design two unit plans.
