Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association (VNLA) Horticultural Research Foundation
Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to USA investigators for original horticultural research. Proposals should focus on the growth, cultivation, or harvesting of horticultural plants, diseases or pests of such plants, best management practices for garden centers and nurseries, landscape installation/maintenance, water recycling/conservation, new equipment technologies, or other original topics.
The proposals should:
- State clearly the purpose of the research including any hoped-for benefits to the nursery trade
- Explain the need for this particular work in the light of any prior work
- List the materials and methods that will be used
- Show specifically how the funds will be used

Funding is generally available in amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000 with most grants in the $1,000 to $3,000 range.
Horticultural research projects in the focus areas mentioned in the Description above are eligible.
Please email your request by December 5, 2017.
Research grants will be awarded at our annual meeting during the MANTS trade show and funds will be dispersed by January 30, 2018 if reports from previous research grants are current.
