Grants to Illinois nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools, faith-based institutions, and for-profits in eligible locations for mental health programs to benefit local residents. Applicants must provide programming addressing developmental disabilities, substance addiction treatment and prevention, or other mental health-related areas. Agencies must serve Hanover Township.

Other Available Funding Opportunities (where applications are accepted anytime throughout the year):

  • Capital Funding: Available to any agency serving Hanover Township residents in the areas of which the Mental Health Board funds. These funds exist to support capital improvements, equipment purchases, etc.
  • Staff Development Funding: Available to any agency serving Hanover Township residents in the areas of which the Mental Health Board funds. These funds exist to support staff development needs ranging from conferences and training to materials.
  • Emergency Contract Support Funding: Available to agencies currently receiving annual funds from the Mental Health Board and was created to support programs to offset the unanticipated consequences of an emergency situation.
  • Challenge Funding: Available for new program development for residents of Hanover Township which fall in line with the Mental Health Board’s funding priorities. Applicants must demonstrate additional support (financial or in-kind) for the program or project.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Agencies can request any amount of funding for a program, but should keep in mind funding requests should be proportional to the number of Hanover Township residents the program serves or projected number of residents and the overall cost of the program.

- Capital Funding: Maximum request $25,000
- Staff Development Funding: Maximum request $3,000
- Emergency Contract Support Funding: Maximum request $25,000
- Challenge Funding: Maximum award $25,000

Term of Contract:

FY22 Service Contract Period/Fiscal Year – April 1, 2021 – March 31, 2022

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Hanover Township Mental Health Board funds any government, school, faith based, 501(c)(3) Not for Profit or private incorporated entity, with an established board of directors, that demonstrates mental health service provision to local residents and that have operated for a minimum of one fiscal year and maintain audited financial statements.

Hanover Township boundaries are Interstate 90 to the north, Barrington Road to the east, Devon Avenue to the south, and the boundary to the west is about two blocks east of Liberty/Route 25 (the Cook/Kane County Lines).
