Grants of up to $3,000 to greater Grand Rapids, Michigan nonprofit organizations for health and wellness programs that benefit local residents. Funding is intended to provide medical services, medical supplies, and health education, as well as promote social welfare.

The Foundation also incorporates the health needs of the community identified in the Kent County Community Health Needs Assessment as additional criteria when assessing grant applications. This study found four major health issues facing the community: mental health, substance abuse, obesity, and poor nutrition. The Foundation has a long history of bridging the gap for individuals when insurance and Medicaid will not cover essential items for their health and wellbeing. The Foundation will continue to accept grants from nonprofit organizations requesting funds on behalf of an individual’s health need.
