Award of technology purchases valued at $1,000 to an Arkansas K-12 teacher to acknowledge excellence in educational technology integration. Arkansas licensed teachers who are currently teaching in Arkansas may self-nominate or be nominated by others. The award winner will be recognized at the ARKSTE Conference and receive a one-year paid membership to ISTE and a $1,000 technology purchase of his/her choice.

Making IT Happen is an internationally recognized awards program for educators in the field of educational technology integration in K–12 schools. As an affiliate of ISTE, ARKSTE selects a winner and finalist for the statewide Making IT Happen Award.

The nominee should exemplify the eight components of the following Making it happen “Formula of Success”:
a. Apply available technology now
b. Move forward and don’t look back
c. See students as real people
d. Teach through relationships, inspiring, encouraging, and nurturing
e. Recognize that further change is necessary, but understand that it is a process
f. Realize that teacher empowerment is the key element to technology integration
g. Expect success
h. Motivate through awareness and access to information.

The MIH award winner will receive an award package consisting of:
- Recognition at the ARKSTE Conference
- Plaque and package of educational technology gifts
- $1,000 technology purchase of his/her choice and a one-year paid membership to ISTE.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nominations for this award will be accepted from any Arkansas licensed teacher who is currently teaching in Arkansas. Self-nomination for the ARKSTE “Making IT Happen” Award is expected and encouraged.

Applications will be open until February 9, 2019.

Nominations must be emailed. Files must be no larger than 10 MB in order to be received. Multiple files may be attached. All files must be named as follows: lastname-filenumber.extension (e.g.Doe-1.doc, Doe-2.pdf, etc.)
